"We wanted to maintain the style or architecture," she said. "We wanted the new construction to blend with the old." The owners searched for quite a while before deciding to entrust the project to Risley. A bathroom and bedroom were added to the home, and another bedroom expanded and the through-hallway was converted into a playroom of sorts. The kitchen and dining room areas were also renovated. Risley was able to maintain the same exact roof line on the home addition going to extremes to obtain authentic Spanish tile for the new roof. The tile on the old part of the house was about 160 years old. "We aged the tile so that it wouldn't look 'too' new", Risley said. "We couldn't be happier with the results," said the ecstatic owner.
